Audrey Joe-Ezigbo is a highly experienced business leader, advisor and coach, with over 29 years proven track record and deep expertise in Strategic Planning and Execution, Corporate Governance, Investor relations, Advocacy, Entrepreneurship Development and Environmental Sustainability in private, public and non-profit sectors at Executive and Board levels.
Recognized for her results-driven leadership and counsel in building organizations into world class, top producers Audrey is Deputy Managing Director, Falcon Corporation (a leading, wholly indigenous midstream and downstream Energy, Gas Distribution & Trading company) which she co-founded in 1994, championing the successful growth of the company into a major player in the Nigerian Gas industry. Audrey is also Managing Director, Optimera Energy LFZE, an SPV focused on Gas infrastructure build-out, Gas distribution and Energy optimization within Nigeria.
She is passionate about entrepreneurship in Africa and committed to actualizing the potentials of SMEs to become large corporates or multinationals. Mrs. Joe-Ezigbo is committed to building African institutions that can survive and scale sustainably and developing leaders and managers for these organizations who are global in their thinking and networks.
Audrey holds a BSc. Honors degree from the University of Nigeria; several Masters’ degrees in Finance, Marketing and Business Administration from Lagos Business School, University of Nigeria, and Nnamdi Azikiwe University; and a host of executive certifications in Management, Leadership and Governance from Harvard Business School, IE Business School, and the WIMBOARD Institute.
Audrey is the Chairman, Advisory Board of the Nigerian Gas Association (NGA), the umbrella association for corporates and professionals, and the voice of Gas in Nigeria’s Gas industry. Audrey served as President of the Nigerian Gas Association (2018-2021) – the first woman to ever occupy this position in 23-years. She remains on the NGA EXCO in Ex-Officio capacity.
Audrey is a member of the 2022-2025 EXCO of the International Gas Union, sitting in as Nigeria’s representative responsible for the Exploration & Production Committee; again, she is the first African woman to occupy this position.
Audrey is a Fellow (FEI), Energy Institute UK – the chartered body of global energy experts.
She is a Member, Institute of Directors (Nigeria) MIoD – where she serves as Vice Chair, IoD Nigeria’s Energy & Power Committee. She is a founding member, Women in Energy Network (WiEN) where she serves on the WiEN Gas Subcommittee. Audrey is a member and Global Role Model, Women in LPG (WiNLPG) and a member, Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) NCCF Diversity Sectoral Working Group. She is the Chairman, Advisory Board, Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria (MOMAN).
An astute professional, Audrey sits on the Board of FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc, and on the Advisory Boards of Pan Atlantic University’s Lagos Business School (LBS) and Enterprise Development Center (EDC).
She previously served as a member of the Executive Council, Women in Management, Business & Public Service (WIMBIZ) where she had chaired the WIMBIZ Capital committee (WIMCAP) and the WIMBIZ Membership and Programs committee.
Audrey Joe-Ezigbo has won several awards for her contributions to building entrepreneurial capacity in the industry, Nigeria, and the African Continent at large, including the prestigious Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year West Africa 2014 Award, the Lagos Business School (Pan Atlantic University) Distinguished Alumni Award 2018, the Women in Maritime and Energy, Energy Trailblazer Award 2022, the Women in Energy Network (WiEN) Hall of Fame ‘Winning with Women’ Award 2022, the 2022 Centre for Values in Leadership Award for her transformational work in the Nigerian Oil and Gas sector, and the Nigerian Gas Association NGA 2023 Award For Excellence In Leadership also in recognition of her exemplary leadership and contributions to the Nigerian Gas industry.
Audrey has been recognized as one of Leading Ladies Africa 100 Most Inspiring Women in Nigeria 2023 (The Enterprise Edition), and the ABCD Africa 50 Most Impactful Voices (African Women Using Their Voices and Digital Content as A Tool for Change) 2023. She was listed on the 2021 PowerWoman 100 in the Oil & Gas category, recognized as one of top 100 Outstanding Female Executives in the African Oil and Gas Industry 2021, and recognized as one of Leading Ladies Africa 100 Most Inspiring Women in Nigeria 2019.
A lover of people and philanthropist, Audrey gives back to society through various means. She is the Promoter of The Barnabas Widows Empowerment Foundation, an NGO through which she provides support to widows and vulnerable children. Audrey is the Promoter of the Double Impact Platform, a relationship and business training and capacity-building community for entrepreneurial couples who are in business together.
Fondly known as ‘The Impactonaire’, Audrey is a highly sought-after international speaker on various platforms including TEDx. She is a prolific writer, blogger, and author with four published books.
She is married and a mother to four young adults.
